Do you want a side project you have as long as you need to figure out? I have an old house that may need a garage in the future and I’m trying to figure out how to get it past the city historical board.

i have 3 in line right now so I hope you are not in a rush. The important part is to show them that you know the significance of the hist orical aspects of the building and you will build it to match those details. I’m helping another architect with some graphics for a muti-use building in a historical district in the center of a stuck-up town. They are having an entire sheet dedicated to the details.
The important parts will most likely be the soffit, rakes, door styles, sid ing type and colors. The town may even have a list of colors you are restricted to.
I can give you advice and direction but I don’ t know how much drawing I can do right now. Do you have a picture of the house?

I’ve got as long as you want. At this point it could be a pipedream but there’s a chance we could move in here in a couple years. Her mom changes her mind in what she wants to do every other day it seems.

The front rectangle is from 1846 and the rest was 1900 so the roof might be from then.
